Hello! So today I'm going to tell you about my experience on Gathapraya. It wasn't much, really, since I got in there late and I didn't participate the parade or any other activities in the morning. But it was still a great experience that I'll never forget!

So, Gathapraya is an annual cultural festival hosted by the students of SMAN 3 Bandung. This festival was held to make our love for traditional cultural arts grow, and also to remind us to always maintain, preserve, and develop our own culture.

Gathapraya was held on Saturday, 30 September 2017 on Lapangan Bali. I don't really know when the event start since I got there at about 4 pm, but the event ends nearly at 11 pm. I got there with my friends who previously did the psychotest at school with me. That's also the reason why I can't participate with the parade. We were so stressed out so we immediately went to the place to refresh our brain. We finally got in after the ticket, body and bag checking. I …

Holiday Planning!

Hi! I'm back again. This time, I'll introduce you to my classmate, Astrid. She's my close friend and I'll interview her about her holiday planning. Below is my conversation with her!
Me: "Hi, Astrid! How are you doing?" Astrid: "Hi, I'm fine, thanks. What about you?" Me: "My head is about to explode from all of this tests and homeworks. Basically dying."  Astrid: "Same. I need a holiday as soon as possible to escape all of this." Me: "Hang on there, Strid, holiday seasons are nearing. I also can't wait. You've got a holiday plan already?" Astrid: "Yes, I've got plenty!" Me: "Please share them with me! I've got none!" Astrid: "I wanna visit a beach that I have never been to, in Indonesia." Me: "Cool! And why is that?" Astrid: Because I have a principle to travel around Indonesia. Because we have to know ourself more before we visit somebody else's. Me: Wher…

When Everything Goes Wrong

The story I'm going to tell right now is real, and it happened to me when I was still an 8th grader student. I remember it was on one Friday afternoon, and at the time there was some kind of an event going on at my school. Me being the clumsy kid I am, I forgot to bring my wallet to school, no idea why. But throughout the day I thought it was okay, since I could just ask my mom to pick me up from school. I didn't even thought of borrowing some money from friends. I just went on with the day normally.
The event ended at 11.30 AM. Everyone either went straight to home or go to mosque to pray. I was so tired back then that the first thought that crossed my mind was to go home immediately. I didn't even wait for my friends to walk home together. I just walked alone to the stopping place for public vehicles and waited for the Riung Bandung-Dago angkot. I mindlessly stepped into one when one showed up, since that angkot is so rare, especially on times like that when everyone go…

Unexpected Encounter

One afternoon, Annabeth went to a local bookstore to check if her favorite author's newest book has been available yet. Unable to contain the excitement, she hurriedly went to the novel section without even looking at her surroundings. She then accidentally bumped into someone who's going to an opposite way than her. Annabeth was about to say sorry when she realized that the girl she bumped into was her friend back then on elementary school.

Annabeth: "Ah! Angie, right?"
Angie: "Um...yes. How do you know my name?"
Annabeth: "Of course I do! Did you forget me already? I was your friend back then on elementary school."
Angie: "Huh? You are?"

Angie was confused for a second for she clearly doesn't remember the girl in front of her. But then, a sudden glimpse of memory flashed through her mind.

Angie: "Wait, I think I remember who you are. You couldn't be Annabeth, right?"
Annabeth: "Yes, I'm Annabeth! I used to be…

About Me

Hello to all of you who happens to stumble upon my blog. This is my first post, and I'm not really familiar with this blogging thing but I think I might as well introduce myself. I'm Amel, short of Amelia Nafisah Rahma. But you can call me whatever you want, I don't mind. I’m 14 years old, and I’m currently a struggling 10th grader student who's just trying to get hold of my own life, basically. I was born in Bandung, on 6th February 2003. I went to SMAN 3 Bandung, and before that I went to SMPN 7 Bandung and Darul Hikam Elementary School. I live on Bandung, ever since I was born until now.
I'll tell you a few things about my-not so interesting-self. My hobbies are reading (anything I can read, from sci-fi novels to fics I found on Internet), playing piano, traveling, watching movies, surfing the Internet, listening to music, etc. I switched hobbies frequently so there’s no permanent one. This might be because I have zero consistency on everything I do. I procrast…
